Top Ratings for Flow

The Gleaner published an article on February 9 that might have consumers double checking their quarrels with Flow Jamaica. The article “Engineering Company Ranks Flow Top For Frequency And Quality” spoke to the test done by a reputable independent team of international network analysts called MSI Americas. MSI Americas conducted extensive and comprehensive benchmarking and drive test of the two local networks- Flow Jamaica and Digicel Jamaica. They ranked Flow Jamaica as the faster, stronger and more reliable network on the island.

Just in Time

These results couldn’t come at a better time for Flow as customer dissatisfaction has been ever rising since the joining of LIME and Flow. The situation reached to the point that they were called by the OUR (Office of Utilities Regulation) for a meeting on Friday October 15th 2015.
The complaints to the OUR related mostly to the following issues:
1. Billing matters
2. Disputed
3. Dropped calls
4. Poor quality of service
5. Service disruptions
Broken down, from January 1st 2015 to September 30th 2015, the complaints to the OUR read as thus:
1. 400 contacts from FLOW customers
2. 20 related to broadband service
3. 360 complaints from LIME customers for mobile, Internet and landline services

The Competition

Some might say these results are a little too late though, as Digicel’s new Fiber Optic Network is here and changing the game for service delivery. With this new development in the industry, these independent ratings come as a small reprieve and the ‘lynch pin’ in what could be Flow’s greatest marketing struggle.

Digicel Jamaica

The Score

Flow Jamaica outranked Digicel in three out of four benchmark tests and earned a comparative rating on the fourth. Flow emerged from the tests as tops with superior radio frequency quality, 3G throughput, as well as higher 3G retention.
“Of more than 26,000 samples per provider, 99 per cent of the Flow Jamaica samples remained on the 3G instead of 2G, while the competition reselects up to 2.4 more times from 3G to 2G. Flow also leads the way on the amount of locations with excellent speed.” –The Gleaner

The Consumer

We have been sold many advertising campaigns that stress the speed and efficiency of Digicel’s telecommunications services. Now however, consumers have verifiable facts they can use to make informed decisions. So are you going to go with the Flow or sign up for Digicel’s promise of safe, secure and fast Fiber Optics?
